I want to get my hasmat endorsement. I am aware I need to take a ELDT class first. Can someone tell me the right one to take for California? Is $140 a good price? Will this one do?

No, that's not a good price. Go to the FMCSA training registry and start looking at the providers that offer online courses. I've seen as low as $25.

That's too much money. I just Googled "ELDT for Hazmat" and there were pages of hits. I have heard of them as low as $25.
This one is $50.

That is where I found that one... There are 1600+ schools listed.

How much is it worth to you to not pay 3-5 times too much?
I don't think ELDT training is state specific.Truckingdaytrader and Terlingua Thank this. -
This one says they are on the FMCSA list. They even have a video "showing how to find them". But when you try to find them, they are not on the list. I like the price but I am skeptical that they are legit. The cheapest one on the list I have found so far is $69.95. I have gone through the first 30 listed out of over 400!

They are legit and listed with FMCSA site. Also. I did that route and it was recorded with my DMV. Don't over pay if you don't have to. Finding them on the fed list should be all you needed to know. But I will throw in that I used them to let you know . Yes . They are legit.gentleroger and Truckingdaytrader Thank this.

Use the FMCSA Training Provider Registry Training Provider Registry
Then you can narrow down the list to those providers near you or online, etc. DO NOT rely on a company claiming to be on the FMCSA list. If they are actually on the TPR list they will be found on the FMCSA list at the link above. Or don't. It's your money and your time. If you are willing to trust some random "school" to take your money and provide less than you expect, go ahead. Buyer Bewaregentleroger Thanks this.
