If you built it out of carbon fiber and put an electric motor with pedal assist, it could be a pretty efficient can collecting operation.

We build windmill blades here in Little Rock, those go out on special trains, one blade per three flatcars as superloads. Probably going on 10 years now.

Cracked rods equals Chernobyl. Do you ever study history?

HA. The latest generator for military laser use in Israeli Missile defense contains a 60 KWh pack on the back of a duece and half truck. It's a few tons.
You need upwards of 5000 KWh to charge a truck. You are looking at about 5 houses worth of power consumed each month. Burnt in 1 hour or two. or three...
If you think a little bit bigger, considering when 100,000 trucks want to be charged at dinner time in LA, it has just consumed pretty much all of the power generated to where the peakers and boost generators will not be able to cover that demand, and thus there will be a buying of imported power from other states at very high prices per kilowatt hour. If all the states are charging big trucks, there isnt enough capacity in our entire grid to do it. We will need to essentially triple the generation and double the grid long haul and quadruple the capacity in terms of thermal and power resistance to damage.
These are back of napkin figures. I can be wrong or I can be right. The concept is that the electric everything will create a living nightmare in a few years.BoxCarKidd and Oxbow Thank this. -
Chernobyl was a result of a human test in the control room when they went ahead and took certain systems completely off line. Before they had a chance to contain the results KABOOM.
I understand the original concrete has failed for which hundreds have died to apply. The next shielding being installed over the thing will be only good a couple hundred years at most. They are already working on two problems One to replace the new shielding and two how to continue to tame that thing from further explosions. It's expected to continue to be a problem 10,000 years into the future.
As far as I am concerned it's not my problem yet.Oldironfan Thanks this.
