My personal observations, and I'm not going to tell anyone that I know a lot about electronics.
I noticed that the inline power converter/supply on my laptops power cord got real warm when using a modified sine wave inverter. When I changed to a pure sine wave inverter it stay cool. So I do think that the modified sine wave inverters can be hard on electronics. Just sayin'.
