Electrical issues need help

    Can anyone identify this part, I need to know what it does and what it controls and can it effect my gauges etc... 1992 peterbilt 379

    Starter box, once you trip it, it should crank the starter. That would be my guess.

    It's very hard to guess a box without following the heavy wires to wherever it feeds.

    It's a salinoid big wires should go to the batteries and the started small wires to the ignition switch

    That's a switch (or relay) that gives power to starter solenoid when you press the start button

    If you need to replace it, look for a "starter Mag switch".
