Really? I was always company. Not sure how rates worked. But I woulda thought $3 a mile was good. I got 40 percent.

Make a killing pulling for Amazon...ya ok
Take a look through what others have to say about Amazon loads on here. I guess it must not have been that good considering you quit doing that for a usually very highly competitive job to get - the shunt truck job.

The issue is the erosion of civil liberties just one chip at a time. Just because you agree with a new regulation you can't stand up for someone who doesn't want to be forced to the will of the new regulation. There lies the issue.

Ah; but how sweet can it be when you can get the best of both worlds? Pretty awesome if I say so myself...

Those "high $3/mile loads" for Amazon usually go a short distance. Waste of time, should pay a day rate instead. There is no shortage of suckers and Amazon knows it.

Someone posted an article on here yesterday. Average wages back in the 80's was $38G. That would be equivalent to $141G today. But today, the average wage is only $41.

A $3,000 raise for inflation over 40 years. And soon to be a worthless job thanks to automation.

Ya. That would be a good run at 1350 for a 450 mile daily run. I bet it happened one time, and then Amazon found someone to do it for half that. Which would be why it makes sense why so many on here who have dealt with Amazon say it's a waste of time. Order too many trucks wait forever to load or unload and then the rate is garbage. Amazon is opening a location up here in the great white north, and cities are competing for their business. I will have no part of hauling for them. Should be good for finishing off at least a few of the marginal carriers in the area.

Ran it a year and a half on a dedicated route. Hand picked by my company cause I was never late and Amazon was willing to pay well for people who could get the job done. Which I did.

And you were unable to go home for your 450 mile a day run? At 40% that's a $540 day for you as a driver. And I'm not even going to bring up the (approximately) 1/3,1/3,1/3 general rule. Seems you must have taken a substantial financial hit to do your shunter gig.
