Nah, not serious but it wouldn't surprise me if we didn't need to have some kind of card to use these things down the road. I know a few drivers that have a hard time filling out an online job app.DrtyDiesel and volvodriver01 Thank this.

I'm glad you were kidding, had me worried lolrodknocker Thanks this.

Yet the ones admitting to running illegal are on E-logs. So why is the government pushing them again?
DrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
yes they do
I ask guys that are on elogs and brag about how "legal" they run, if they log their "active duty time" at shippers?
EVERY ONE OF THEM SAY NO
and mostly their reason is if they did, their company would fire them because logging that time is non-productive
so they can keep their sanctimonious "i run elogs, so i run legal" garbage for someone who doesnt know
they run illegal as long as they can fool the computer, so basically there is no "legal benefit" to running elogs other than it cuts the flexibility in how you do your business
we are trying to put concrete rules in a fluid industry, it doesnt workLogan76 and volvodriver01 Thank this. -
sure it does,
it works with all the newbies that have never driven without a box.
they would be lost to log on actual paper. becuase they can't think outside of the box.
one dimensional thinking is all they know.volvodriver01 and DrtyDiesel Thank this. -
I don't know anybody that logs all time at Shipper or Receivers as On Duty.
Regardless if they are on are on ELogs or Paper.
Having said that most places, don't require the Drivers to be watching while loading or unloading
In fact most places don't allow drivers on their Dock.
This is speaking for Van/Reefer, since I have not done flats or anything else.
On duty time is not as big of an issue as drivers exceeding their 11/14 or taking shorter breaks than allowed.
ELogs distracting, give me a break Some people will say anything to get out of the inevitable.
The only thing that changes is the way you are logging.
Paper vs an Electronic Device.
If setup correctly it does not allow you to use it while driving.Last edited: Dec 30, 2012

When I was at GP getting my load I logged 15 minutes on line 4, that was for customer check in.
Then went around back to he staging area and went to line 2 for two hours waiting for them to load me, after being loaded I went to line 4 to strap and tarp.
Left and went to the truck stop and went to line 1 for my 12 hour break, I felt like sleeping in lol -
I know a few guys that would be line 3 or 4 all day long. Sir on a dock in the sleeper for 10 hours all line 4.
And they never had hours to run.
Wonder why...../sarcasm -
I guess some guys don't know how to log....?
I was asked if I knew how to "log properly at a shipper". I told them yes, have been doing good since. No wonder I always had hours in the van division. Lol.
