I can understand not wanting to go to electronic logs. Some jobs cannot be done if everything is done to the letter of the law, and I respect that. But arguing against electronic logs because you won't be able to fix them is like arguing against cashless parking meters because you won't be able use a quarter on a string to park for free anymore. Sure, it makes sense to you and a lot of others, but it's just reinforcing the idea that they are needed in the eyes of the lawmakers.

like i said all along. elogs are for people that can't nor willing to do paper. and the rules today. are slave driving rules compared to what they were before.

i drive the old way. it works for me. i refuse to drive 11 straight. day after day. and i refuse to deal with all the negatives you all like so much with your leash. i'm not forced to park in the mountains or shipper/receiver becuase i'm outa hours.

i'm not forced to drive hard becuase i'm on a clock. i'm not forced to sit there when i'm not tired. if i have to go pee. i pull over.

i'll sleep when i'm tired. i'll drive when i'm awake. i'll eat when i'm hungry.

i won't let the govt or the box tell me what to do. they don't give me a pay check. i collect my own. they take there share out of that.

in other words. i don't work for them. THEY WORK FOR ME.

i do my job MY way. and i make more money MY way. and i probably make MORE then you becuase of that. (oh wait, you all have places that work around the clock. so you have more flexible hours). disregard that statement.

i beleive in the AMERICAN WAY. when lincoln was president. and he abolished SLAVERY.

i beleive in FREEDOM. the same thing you all praise the military for fighting for your freedom. but then you let the govt put a leash on you.

becuase you LOVE being lazy and letting a box do your logs for you. and being told when you can and can't work.

i do my logs electronically. but the govt don't control my electronic device.

when are you box lovers ever gonna learn. your so set in your ways with your one dimensional thinking.

i can see accidents on the rise. cuz they are more frequent now then when i first started. when werner was the only name doing paperless.

i see how tired you all are. becuase you still have time to drive. and yet your weaving all over the road. i see it EVERY NIGHT.

but your shallow one dimensional thinking is the only way our jobs should be. one day you might cause an accident. and then you'll wish you never had the box to keep you from sleeping when you were tired 3 hours ago.

    F R E E D O M M M. i have that. and you don't.

Thanks guys for all the great posts! I am rolling here getting my dose of humor. And I didn't have to go to the Comedy Club! Cool! You try as you might to take potshots at folks who have no problem with e-logs, and none of it is sticking. Some of us have far more experience in all the things you say we know nothing about than most of the nay-sayers. It is just fear of the unknown, I know that. Frankly, and a hate to say it, but I almost hope these things do get mandated and forced on everyone. Then we can separate the men from the boys. But keep those posts coming! I may forward this a shrink I know from college for him to see how paranoia run amok looks. I am already ahead of the game compared to you and this will be fun to watch if e-logs make it to a final rule.

The new job I'm going to runs e logs, although it won't matter. Ill be home every night and paid regardless of the hours I work or the miles I run. Ill be one of the exceptions I suppose.

I wouldn't mind them so much if I had the option to drive off duty, but as a company driver with Roehl, you do not get that option.

Yep, the days are long gone when a driver could pull over a and get some rest when he or she is tired. After all we just had a ten hour break when our truck was being unloaded near the train station.

What I find funny is the fact you have repeatedly posted that they should not be mandated but then here you say they should be forced. Which is it? Again you don't really care since they work in the way you run yourself but what about the majority of drivers that they are going to hurt? Oh yea you have already made it clear you don't care about anyone but yourself.

You ain't insinuating that he's one of the drivers that will screw up traffic for 20 minutes because his truck is going .00123 mph faster than the one in front of him are you?

my brother in law drove with a box. and his driving days have come to an end. he's in the hospital with blood clots. and if his problem gets resolved. he's now forced to find a job that gets him exercising.

he's now the 3rd driver i've heard this from.

No he has already stated like 25 times that his truck can run 150mph but he only runs 62mph. :biggrin_25526:
