LOL! That must be a form letter being circulated, because I saw the exact same thing come across with the carrier packet from the company I used to I/C for...getting set up to keep doing what I've been doing, just under different (not theirs) numbers.

What it fails to acknowledge are the various exemptions that exist. Log books aren't any of their business, and the way we took it is that as long as we're complying with the regulations we're good. In other words, if you're exempt just sign the thing saying you are complying with the regulatios and keep logging on paper as allowed under them.

Seems to me if you are driving a truck that is exempt from elds you ARE in compliance with the mandate.

    Just say you do!!!
    It's pretty stupid actually!!!
All you have to do is buy a cheap phone big like a tablet like out of Walmart or something and put big road on it and Walla, now you're running elogs!!!!
Not such a big deal like people make it!!!!
Then go to a truck stop like Pilot, flying J or TA and buy a holder for it stick itSitSon the dash and boom, buy one of the power adapters and a 3 or 4 plug in that plugs into the 12 volt holes and now you got power, get a mechaniM at TA or some radio shop for cars to put one in, pay em some cash, not much $30 to $60 boom you're all up to date with every mandate FMCSA has now, and now you can keep rolling and making $$$$$$!!!
    ✌Peace out!!!!

    rabbiporkchop and Mcskinny Thank this.
