eLogs are an odd subject. The technology behind them is almost 25 years old, and should be proven. however very few have taken advantage of them so very little is known about how to actually use them and follow what has become standard on a paper log. Enforcement is pretty much treating them like a walkman, even though they are essentially an iPod.

When we were training on the E Logs We kept paper as well. I actually ran out my 70 on paper one week but still had 2 hours to drive on the E logs. This was logging the paper off of time stamps from E Logs.
I asked my company about it and they said the paper log was the official one until I was 100% on E Log. -

thank you nashvilledriver for posting that , I thought it was legal since roehl has all there new drivers log both at the same time, so if the e-log does have a problem they will know how to run a proper paper log and recap.

Hi okay after all that , i understand both of them, but my quistion is, i write down my miles when i first start too drive, now i have e logs , and it let say for example, it's 5 miles over what i wrote off the speedometer, which would i go by, cause i use this too avg my speed for that day.
