From my understanding, according to the ruling edits do not erase the original data. I don't mean the data on your device, I'm talking about the stored data back at the home office.

Edit to add: if I'm an hour away from home i also go home. Personal conveyance or seeking safe haven, whichever applies.

    Oxbow Thanks this.

I couldn't agree more. This would have never gained any traction if it wasn't for our willingness to run illegal. This is the only industry where guys are willing to work more for less. Instead of demanding higher pay, we demand to work more.

Then make those drivers use them

You still don't get it. The Megas want to hire people that work cheap but they can't trip plan or do math. They constantly have compliance issues. So their solution is E-logs, which tells their drivers how many hrs they have and reduces the need for back office people checking HOS all the time. BUT, the trade off is they have to run legal now so they think everyone else should bear the expense of their solution.

That sounds an awful lot like your are saying the megas couldn't compete with independents and small carriers cause they have to run legal.

I guess you hear what you want but the truth is they couldn't compete because of the drivers they hired.

The thing is, the laws have not changed. We should have been running legal the whole time. If you think the sky is failing that means you have not been running legal. If you have been then it will be no change in the way you operate.

And they still won't be able to compete, because of the drivers they hire.

And we will never be able to compete where they thrive. Two totally different business models
