You can run legal with elogs and get 3000+ miles a week. It takes a dispatcher and load planner that knows what they are doing. The problem is when the truck sits and has to wait for a load. I've been at Tyson for a month now and the trucks wait very little. I have been running 2800 to 3175 every week and it's been easy.

Yet another post from a dry van hypocrite who is suffering with elogs.

Just because you are suffering with them, and because your company was forced to take them or voluntarily took it up the rear does not mean it is a good fit or the correct fit for the rest of the industry.

I love the way you say grocery warehouses are for the bottom feeders, and are someone else's problem. Typical attitude of a dry van crybaby. The freight has to get there somehow, no matter who pulls it. Relaying it is still going to cost more money than if people do their jobs right in the first place.

I understand the system and new plan, that it is corrupt, and lets the government dig its claws where they don't belong. And for the record, it is big box companies like yours who are the problem, accepting the elogs garbage instead of fighting it.

I average 2700 miles a week ( some 2600 and some 2800) done in 5 days average 67-69 hours usually load 4 times make 12-15 deliveries I normally cover OH,WV,VA.NC,KY,IN,PA,MD...I run peoplenet elogs...also I have to find a motel everyday...If you keep your left door shut and stay out of truckstops for hours on end you can run good miles ....this is done with a 65 mph daycab ,no jake pulling out the gate at 80k on every load....moral of the story is a good living can be made with elogs but you have to stay moving, stay out of truckstops and always be thinking of your next move ...

Sounds like your a reefer hauler and Ive touched a nerve,I was Just agreeing with your analogy of Bottom Feeders:scratch:

Hypocrite?: You might not be using the correct analogy there Bud,You might want to actually re-read my original statement and the other post, you might want to be FACTUAL,But the original post was never about Food warehouses, reefer or "Its right for everyone",just a simple post that you can be productive with them,WTH are you afraid of anyway??? I guess by your post your not ACTUALLY on them and we(CWTL) dont make a "habit" of doing food warehouses so why the grief driver? If you want to do that line of work More power to you,i wish there was more of you so we didnt even have to go to food warehouses

Food Warehouse:The Only customer(s)(All 10 of them-10 years,LOL) I have EVER been to that charge or force the driver to unload their freight and charge them at same time::biggrin_2559:

Bottom Feeders:I was agreeing with you Diesel_Wiesel,,we here dont rely on Food Warehouse freight, and NO,,, relaying a load adds ZEROcost to a load, how could it???,the "load" (u know the trailer) gets to the intended destination ontime, dont matter how it got there ,point is it got there. If it was late and had to reschedule then the receiver would ask/demand a discount,,,RIGHT??? so that would eventually come out of the cost of you pulling the load,,

BUT WAIT A MINUTE,,,, your not on ELOGS so you can make-up anything you want,,so in theory you would NEVER be late:biggrin_255:(just a thought)

And seeing that by your profile(7 years?) well you dont exactly qaulify as to knowing what the old HOS were actually like,,"Way Back Then"

Corrupt System? how is it corrupt?,So it wasnt corrupt under the old HOS? Please explain this,The Govt has every right,,NO ,,,i mean to say Responsibility to ensure that you ,me,and everyone else is doing it right, now you wont hear me crying about this(ELOGS) and i have every right to,hmmm lets see,,
    1.78 Million Miles(not a single ticket,out of service),,

I play the hand thats dealt me,,you dont pull for a "Mega-Carrier" and thats kewl(its your choice) and BTW CWTL is far from a "MEGA"(only 2100 companies trucks and we have a waiting list for a open truck)

But if you are a Reefer Hauler (for the sake of YOUR argument) you might want to stay "Apples to Apples" and not "Apples to Oranges",and decry a large Reefer Company,Shaffer,KLLM,CR England,etc....We dont compete with reefer hauling companies,

Suffering: I guess you have all the answers huh? to many J.O.B.'s out here to be doing that,,,I dont really understand people like you,you think Im Forced to drive for this company, and some how Im Suffering???

I run 2100 to 3000 weekly and home every weekend if I choose,Ill take that with the Burden of ELOGS,

But by the sound of it,your one of those drivers that only see the "carrot" in front of you,CPM,,,have to run hard run extra to make a living, well BEEN THERE,DONE THAT:smt079 Dont want to do that anymore

Your young, some day in the future it will come to you,,,you will have that moment(probably late at night while your trying to make your Book "right") and you will notice that to make sure this load got there ontime "You had to make things happen" and yet your carrier didnt pay you anything extra, cause by now(according to you) They Know they can count on me to get the load there regardless, and load after load after load they will, and yet you dont prosper from your hard work&dedication, cause by now "THEY" expect it

By the way that's "you're young," not "your young." You're is the correct contraction for "You are", while "your" is a possessive pronoun.

    Actually the opposite is true.
I am willing to run wherever they send me (as long as I can do it legal or close to it to start out with). There are a few drivers here they are scared out of their minds to run east of the Mississippi River. This only helps me out more

I dont have to try to convince you (never was my intent)you have a incoherent rambling from one subject to another???

You have literally no idea as to how & why relays are made ,We do relays each and everyday, loads are constantly moving, been doing that long before ELOGS,your analogy is so far off,,,
WE have PLANNED trucks for this each day(much like LTL )
And yes only 2100 company trucks,so IF we had to relay its no problem and no in your small truck company world yes it would be a problem,,but as usual the intent of a the thread was hijacked by a person that has literally no knowledge of what(ELOGS) he is talking about(the #### thing doesnt talk to you)

If you want to have a HOS debate trust me your view has no validity with me,But you are right ELOGS are not for everyone, especially you,,UNTIL you are forced on you, then like me you make the best out of the situation,,,but if i were you i would be checking your DOT# on the FMCSA web site often,,,when your company runs that score up ,,well then its your turn to take one for the team

You keep saying I dont need a Box to tell me when I can run(what like your log book?) and yet in another sentence i know my limits, what is it driver do you run legal or not?,,,NOT I know I was there for years and did the same

I didnt JUST choose to run with Conway, been with them 10 years, and your company will do the same exact thing if they have too,and then YOU will have to make a decision,do you stay with a your company?(who I guess you seem to like?) or do you move onto another one that hasnt fallen under the same fate,,,

Apples to Apples analogy,,,Swift-20,000 trucks/Conway TL 2100,so no we are not MEGA,,,

Just joined the thread to read. Keeping my mouth shut to keep it civil in here but I'll post a pic of my productive day when I get a chance to compare apples to oranges.

Finally bought my first gps unit. The Randy McNally 5" screen. Keeps track of a few different things. Would be the closest thing I'll ever experience to a e log during my time of driving.

They just will not get it. The entire reason for EOBR's is right there in their argument. Make it work, find some extra, get it done. ..........

Same reason the split sleeper was changed everyone knew drivers were hiding on duty dock time. Everybody knows now there is a huge portion of the industry regularly violating HOS. Hell they brag about it and then wonder why the change.

If you do not want to be on EOBR's. Better fill out that Wally World application the spots will be filling fast about the middle of next year.
