All I am saying is the only way to make more running E-logs than paper is if the guys weren't working to began with while on paper. Numerous guys come on here saying E-logs make them more money and that is because they weren't doing their jobs in the first place. Also my time is worth more to me than sitting somewhere other than my house because some computer is going to rat me out. Until I do something that warrants an EOBR than I should be permitted to keep on trucking like I have been.
Also COWPIE1 next time you run through a scale are you going to show the officer where you violated your HOS?

You make more money because the companies have got off their butt and figured out if the truck couldn't move. They don't make any money either. So they stepped up their game and got some movers and shakers in the office. Instead of twiddling with your fingers after you get unloaded. You headed to the next pick up. Now that's how I have made more money. Not sure about the other guys. I also made more money because the DOT is not taking it out of my pocket every time I get caught off guard and my joke book is not up to date.

We all love the companies that put EOBRs in trucks that adults drive. Please company that I drive for and give alot of my time for, please make me work more hours because thats what your computer says. :smt079
These threads on E-logs being better than paper are getting redundent and I feel like
everytime I hear a fellow driver that is pushing for the darn things. I really feel like
because drivers are so far apart on whats not good for the industry.
7-UP Thanks this. -
I don't think anybody is pushing for them I think everyone is saying we need to get on board because it's going to be a way of life before long, and we are also saying they're not as bad as what makes it seem to be.

if your taking 34 hour resets on the road your not managing your time wisely whether on elogs or paper
empty going to HT is personal convience or line 5 why sleep it off 50 miles from home? -
Not all companies allow personal conveyance and not all drivers take their reset while empty.
Dinomite, volvodriver01 and DrtyDiesel Thank this. -
Our company drivers aren't allowed to use line 5 on the elogs. That's only for o/o's. I also usually take my 34's under a load
-
well now i have a reasonable reason to be a L/O
I would refuse any load with a built in delivery time for a reset -
Well it's different for us flatbedders.
Say I get a 1500 mile run for the weekend, I pick it up Thursday and its for a Monday delivery. So what I usually do is get near the customer on Saturday and collect layover pay plus get a reset in. -
Never had a problem with logging fueling times on paper. It is called flagging. Also since you round to the nearest .25 hour box, I can save time actually. Say you stop for something and you are stopped for 21 minutes, well you just log it to the nearest 15 minute block and you have just saved yourself 6 minutes on your day. Do that a few times and it adds up.
