Emergency CDL hazmat driver?

    Spent a short time at an environmental firm.

    On the whole the can best be described as greater 'ladies of the evening' than the trucking industry.

    Lots of turnover and it isn't all just waiting around for something to spill.

    The daily bread and butter is focused cleanups like mucking the tarry sludge out of the bottom of huge storage tanks, etc on contract to keep the lights on.

    I remember the bookkeeper's in basket full of the past due bills until a really big cleanup came along to empty it out.

    It's not all action like a movie. Most of the guys I know doing hazmat response spend way more time on cleanup and prep than anything "exciting." It pays better usually, but be ready for some long, repetitive hours powerwashing or moving barrels.
