My truck hasn't had AC in the 9 years I've owned it. I fail to see the "emergency".

Yeah I agree, where's the emergency?

Walmart is your freind OP, go there and pick one out, they've got a couple 12 volt fans they sell.

Ebay is your second friend, there are a lot of them on eBay.

We also have Tractors with no A/C. Even though we have fans in the cab, I personally found them worthless because it actually made things worse. All it did was recirculate the hot air and turned the cab into a convection oven. And to think they guys towards the West, like Phoenix AZ, have no A/C either, which is mind boggling, considering how hot it is out there. The only thing I do is to bring a gallon or two of spring water and just drink as much of it during the day. And most of our runs are short distance as well, so I have an opportunity to take breaks from the heat. But other than that, if you write up the problem on the VIR, the mechanics have to sign off on the work. You can't really file a grievance against them, since they're Union as well, and that would MOST LIKELY cause more problems if you do go that route. Some of the drivers I knew in the past would actually do favors by paying for their lunch so they can have they're Trucks fixed quicker. It's kinda shady that they have to do that sometimes, but you're basically at the mercy of the mechanics.
