About 10 years ago I use to drive for a Refrigerated Unit company (out of Utah). I got upset because the dispatcher lied to me about getting time off and I quit. (Not getting time off, frustrated my wife (now ex) and she divorced me). I got on my qualcomm and told my dispatcher "I quit", told him where the truck was located (at at truck stop in Ohio) and walked away. I only worked for the company for 6 months.
I did have a hard copy of my CDL but never renewed it.
My question is, knowing these facts how hard is it to get relicensed (is going back to school an option or going through the company training programs?) Also, how hard will it be to get employed in the industry?

LOL...thanks, I know they do. However I am more mature than I was 10 years ago and know what the industry entails....so I'm more prepared and eager to go back. So what are my chances? What do I need to do...etc?

Getting your CDL won't be hard, but getting a job might be if your truck abandonment is on record.

The challenge of convincing a potential employer that you won't abandon their equipment as well when you don't get what you want.

    Please, THINK!!! ???

You walked away from a 100+ thousand dollar truck at a truck stop. You didn't even have the sense to return it to the company before you quit.
And was there a trailer attached, with a load as well?

Why should ANYONE trust you again?

Abandoning a truck is akin to rolling one.
It makes you a very bad risk.

DAC only holds that for so long. Hire Right runs that and you can get a free report if you contact them. Then you will know for sure.
With only 6 months experience 10 years ago, you may have to go through the whole school again. A lot has changed and 6 months is like no experience.
You can start calling companies to see what they will require.
    Good luck
