Every company I have worked for did call previous employers so I wouldn't bank on that. Some will, some won't.

I plan to be successful in my job hunt one way or another because I have no other options. But thanks for the advice.

I have had a CDL since the Gov' ment, shoved it down our throat. You know how to drive, or you don't. A road test tells it all. :biggrin_25519:

I know this is an old thread but does this method work? I had someone tell me the same thing? I'm applying for Class B Air Gas Non Hazmat Dry Ice Job, Cemex Mixer Driver, and Trash Trucks? Do you think it would work or are they going to ask for W2 or contact the employers company line? Thanks

The company can decide for themselves how they verify past employment. There's no law stating how it's to be done so every company is different. Essentially, nobody can truly answer your question unless they work for those companies handling the application/ background process. Just apply where you're interested, be honest and let the chips fall where they may.

Hard to say. Sometimes they call. Sometimes they email/fax a verification form. Sometimes they’ll just take you for your word and move on with the hiring process.

Okay thank you. Yeah I just wanna get my foot in so I get my one year experience to throw on my resume then go for the Propane Jobs that pay well! Ny Goal is AmeriGas they paying good money and their everywhere so I can move to a different station if needing to relocate but I wanna come to that company looking good on my resume. I went to the best school around and I already have my tankers but my employment history is crazy because the job market sucks lol wish me luck!

I would apply anyways and be upfront why your employment history is the way it is. Covid has given a lot of leniency. Most companies advertise wanting experienced drivers but can/will make exceptions
