Just got done filling out jobs for pre hire letters. Have about 10 in 10 yrs ive had a companies tell me that I can't hold a job. The reason I have had so many jobs is because its seasonal work. Worked in Deer valley ski for a winter big sky ski resort. denali ak. etc. then a bunch of temp work that didn't land me full time work. How do you explain to recruiters that I am not a job hopper my last job Ive been with them for 2.5 yrs.

Trucking companies are required to get 10 years worth of references from you but if they are none trucking related, I doubt theyll check them back that far? I could be wrong but Ive never had one ask me anything about my job references. The only thing theyve asked me about was spaces between jobs. If you have gaps in employment, theyll probably ask about that?

Bigger companies aren't gonna listen to you. They've got a cookie cutter policy, if you don't fit the mold you're out of luck.
Find a smaller company, especially a face to face application process if possible.
Sit down and explain yourself.
You'll find something. -
For the temp service, just use the temp service as your employer, not the companies they sent you to. This will show one continuous period of working for one company.
Did you try NTB Trucking? They're Michigan based with a good reputation.Lucy in the Sky Thanks this. -
They won't care about that. Life before trucking is not important. Before you get your CDL you were just one of those faceless four wheelers who nobody likes anyway. Fill out the job apps and list periods of unemployment but do not be concern about what they think. They don't judge you, they hire you and forget you.

Most driving applications I have ever filled out had in them a space for the reasons you left a job. This is where you put the information. Just a note however. If these are not jobs where you were driving a CMV the 10 year history does not apply. Stop it at 3 or 4 years back unless the company says otherwise.
