I've never used those. But say you have something that the slip hook cannot be completely latched onto do you just leave the latch part pushed up against it and use it like a normal hook?

Or maybe maybe you have the slip hook on one end and a normal hook on the other?

Hopefully I dont sound to dumb...

Most of my 3/8ths chains I have a 3/8ths/1/2inch size slip hook on one end and a regular grab hook on the other. On equipment and things like Humvees the slip hook will fit the mounted d ring.

So pretty much for stuff that doesn't have mounted Drings and machinery etc etc the slip hooks would be rather pointless correct? Beams, Coils, plate steel etc etc got no use for slip hook?

I run them under the spools and hook back to the chain. Seems to be easier getting the slack out on that side before hooking the binder on the other side.

I feel dumb every day. Some more than others. Like the time I had a real brain fart and argued with @starmac that trailer turn and brake lights was on the same circuit. I was even picturing in my head how it all worked, only problem is I was picturing the wiring on the trailer I pull with my pick up. Talk about looking dumb!
