This is the part that gets me. I don't think your fingerprints have changed since the last time. I've been fingerprinted for my hazmat and TWIC, and to be a youth soccer referee, and a high school math tutor, and to be a motorcycle instructor/examiner. If they can't rely on the fingerprints they already have on file, then what is the value of fingerprints in the first place?
Endorsement pay differential?

I don't understand the whole fingerprints BS either.
Or the test every DA** time -
East Texas pays about a dime more per mile for tank and hazmat together. Lots of chemicals and petrochemicals to deal with here in Texas as a whole. Some companies want you to have experience pulling a HM tank, others will train.

After 9/11, the government had do something visible to show people that they were doing something to deter further terrorism. So first they came up with the new Hazmat requirements and then the TWIC. Both of which involved drivers paying more for the Haz endorsement as well as having to redo it every renewal. Plus pay for the fingerprinting/background check for both Haz and TWIC. Though some states now you to use one check for both. This turned into a cash cow for the feds, the states and for a new industry collecting fingerprints. And now the feds could show they were doing something to combat terrorism. But did it really accomplish that goal? Does anyone really think that if terrorists wanted to use a truck in an attack that they would care if the driver had a Haz endorsement? Or would have placards on the bomb trailer?
The whole deal was nothing but a money grab from the get go and still is to this day.DannyB, Constant Learner, lual and 1 other person Thank this.
