Better to have them in this market than not.
It opens opportunities for you that those without them can’t get.
I came out of school with all my endorsements… tank, hazmat, and doubles/triples.
Yes it cost me an extra few bucks, but i quickly got on with a tanker company and started making good money.
I had 11 or so offers before i graduated.
There’s lots of drivers that don’t have endorsements. Having them makes you more desirable as a driver.

Getting fingerprinted and filing out the form for a background check is too many hoops to jump through? Are you sure this is something you actually want to do?
    That's true, at least.

    tscottme and nextgentrucker Thank this.

Lol, I meant the waiting time and stuff and I just don't want to haul fuel, at least for now, might change my mind in the future though. All it takes is one stray bullet and it's over for me LOL!!

Even reefer companies either 'prefer' or 'require' a hazmat endorsement.
Look at it this way, you unload a reefer load produce somewhere, then the next load is a load of paint. With the hazmat endorsement, you get that load and keep the wheels turning. Without the hazmat endorsement, you must wait for the next reefer or dry load.

Umm... That makes sense, but is having HazMat will make me more money, that's my biggest priority right now.

Get the hazmat then. I pulled reefers for 18 years and that hazmat made me the highest paid driver, annually, at the terminal. The most dangerous hazmat required products I hauled were paint, fingernail polish, fingernail polish remover.

    The short answer is...."yes".

Clarification: the VAST MAJORITY of hazmat loads are not really dangerous freight (like: nuclear waste, explosives, septic tank pumpout, etc).

Instead: most hazmat loads involve freight that is nothing to really be spooked about: paint, hairspray, nail polish remover, charcoal, lighter fluid.....stuff like that. So what? :dontknow:

Cool, when you're renewing it do you have to take the test again?
