Endorsments

Only if you haul tanker. Then you can compare what other pay that haul tanker. You do need tanker for some of those big totes they haul in Van or refer but nobidyvpays extra for that.

 

When you join a company you decided what your pay, schedule, conditions will be. Adding an endorsement after you are hired rarely creates a pay raise. Some companies will pay extra for HazMat. That usually means on HazMat loads you get the HazMat CPM.

 

Think of it on the long run. Need be, endorsements on your CDL will open more doors.

 

So tell them you want a raise

 

Are the conversations telling you to take loads that requires tank endorsment in writing like on a Qualcomm, or Peoplenet?? If so take pictures of the said conversations with your phone so you can prove they told you to... Then tell them that you will not willing break the law, and will not haul said loads until you are properly endorsed (also do this in writing on company device and take pictures of that message as well) If they then fire you, you take the previously mentioned photos to an attorney and sue them for all thier worth... Then take a nice vacation.

 

Why would you ask the company what endorsements you should get?

 

The whole hauling totes now need tanker endorsement is one of those new laws they passed a couple years ago. Before it did not matter. It's just a written test you can take. I never got paid extra for it. I only hauled them totes like 4 times. Hauling them without the tanker endorsement could be bad if the D.O.T stopped you. I would just ask if can keep you off them until you get the endorsement. If I remember it was not much to the test. I never hauled tanker trailer. Once you get it you never have to take the test again.
