Hello everyone,
I am wondering is there a good 9 pin scanner that can read the engine fault codes accurately? Can i use 9 pin to OBD-II wire and then use the OBD-II scanner to read it? I searched on amazon, it seems that the professional ones are very expensive, over 2000 dollars. I am not sure if the more affordable ones which are under 200 dollars are good enough. We have a 2012 freightliner Cascadia with dd15 engine and eaton fuller 13 speed automatic transmission. Thank you!

I've used this scanner before. Hooks up to your phone. Pretty good for the money. Still miles away from OEM software but it does a decent job of reading codes.SAR, interested in engine and spsauerland Thank this. -
Diesellaptops have good stuff but they aren't cheap, you get anything cheap that works good man

I just purchased a Launch CR HD scanner for approximately $100 for my Volvo. It's already saved me 2 trips to the shop. It reads and clears codes and so far I'm impressed considering what I paid.
