    Hi
1994 FL80, cummings 8.3 e-One firetruck. Do not have manuals nor fuse panel diagram.

Turn key to off engine keeps running. Fuel solenoid is good. With key in off position red wire on solenoid receiving 5.5 volts. Suspect ignition relay, but not sure where it is.

tried to trace fuel solenoid wire back to find right spot on fuse panel, but every port i connected with gave me continuity with red wire on solenoid.

engine starts and runs normal. To shut down must turn battery switch to off and turn key to on.

i’ll welcome suggestion on where to look.. if someone has fuse panel diagram i’ll gladly accept.

    thanks
    John

    Welcome to the forum.
A '94 FL80...I might be able to look up some wiring for that truck. I would need the last 6 of vin to do so.

    Last 6 would've been sufficient: L65912

Alrighty...lets see what I can find for your IGN circuit.

    Here is your ign switch:

It goes to the "fuse block" and then to the BULKHEAD connector -- 28 pin. We are wanting to check IGN circuit 1512 that goes to pin 5 on the BH connector.

Pin "A" on the ECM connector goes to pin "5" on the bulkhead connector.

I would check what pin 5 is reading at the bulkhead connector--this would be the easier to check. Check over in the passenger firewall area under the hood.

BTW, what "solenoid" are you talking about? Anyway...report back what you find.

Well, turned out the short was in the alternator. So new alternator and all good.
