Ok. So now you know that the skinner valve is operating as it should, you just need to diagnose why it's not getting a signal to disengage. It could be an AC switch, it could be an engine sensor, it could be that the ECM settings in the new ECM are set for a NC valve. You can throw parts at it, like some have suggested, or you can have a shop hook up a computer and know it's correct the first time. I would look in the ECM settings first. This will also tell you if you're getting a false reading from an AC switch or engine sensor.

Yes, I think you need to have someone plug into it and see what is going on.

thre are lotsa reasons why the fan would stay on. not just the ecm or a/c which could very well have absolutely nothing to do with the problem.

since you don't know the history. it could also be a valve that went out. and rigged to keep the fan on.

i know of a truck that has no answer for why the fan won't run. so the shop reversed the air lines on some valve so the fan stays on. that truck has no a/c or fan switch.

the fan is usually triggered by a valve. that is triggered by various components. when the valve goes out the fan usually doesn't work. it's possible that whatever valve you have is rigged to keep the fan on. becuase the electrical isn't working for whatever reason to that valve.

    just a thought.

Okay yesterday the mechanic at the local shop hooked the truck up to the computer and found a few things wrong.. first of all the ECM was seeing a override switch for the fan was turned on and this truck don't have one.. so after resetting that the fan is now working like it should... also the tire size was set wrong I have low pro 22s and the ECM was set up for low pro 24s.. a few other parameters where not right either... looks like the shop that put the new ECM on before I bought the truck didn't really pay attention to what they were doing... but hopefully the gremlins are all gone for now.. ill know for sure when I hook up in the morning

Ah yes. The ol' ECM switcheroo. Did they check to make sure the ECM is properly programmed for that engine by CPL, horse power and torque?
