Man, sorry it didn't work out. Pretty certain it's locked up at this point then?

FFS its a little bit of oil. A shovel and a couple buckets will take care of that.

I think the wrecker company was trying to make a big deal out of nothing. I doubt Nevada is worried about it, and a reportable spill in our work is 25 gallons or more.

I still have my doubts its seized - sounds like you've been dealing with hacks. Get it to an actual, reputable shop and see what they find. It really shouldn't be this difficult to figure out if an engine spins over or not.

Yeah. Well Monday is tow truck day. My plan is to get a rental car tomorrow. Go to the truck and clean up any and all spill looking gravel. Get a motel in Lund which is 40 miles from truck and on Monday have my company advise me on best course of action.

I used to run that route every week in the 80s, but haven't been through there in a long time. Does Lund have a motel now? Ely isn't all that far away from Lund if needed.

Lund does have a motel. They have somewhat of a truck stop and a restaurant. Ely is 100 miles from my truck.

Did he try to bar it over using a big socket and breaker bar on the front of engine at the crankshaft center bolt or accessory drive center bolt? I’m guessing the first guy tried turning the flywheel from underneath with a screwdriver? Still can’t believe it’s locked up. Should bar over at crankshaft with accessory belt removed. Might have a seized up accessory. After it shutdown was there still oil leaking? Any oil left in the pan when changed? My 12.7 shutdown once from low oil. Added 1/2 gallon Lucas, drove it a mile, had to use over ride while going up a hill. It was 6 gallons low. That means it still had 4 gallons in it. No damage. Any chance your engine didn’t shut down till all the oil was gone? Mechanic said NO CODES. Meaning none at all? No ecm communication? Should have had a stored low oil code. If he couldn’t get code Why not? Low oil sensor failed? You should know if oil was still leaking after it shut down, or did it run right up till it ran out of oil?
