How long since your last overhead?
-
Is it a Fitzgerald Glider?
-
Not likely. They stopped making 379s 10 years ago. Prebuilt gliders to avoid emission engines took off when the DPF started.
Believe it or not, until Daimler-Chrysler bought Detroit, Detroit's were available from every manufacturer. I had one in my 96 379, and have one in my 94 W900.HopeOverMope and Shock Therapy Thank this. -
Sounds like the Detroit stumble. R. Is this something new

Have you checked for soot near the exhaust manifold indicating an exhaust leak which sounds like a tapping noise? Also, and I doubt this is it, but a worn cam lobe would have excessive play in the lash and make a noise too. Truck may still pull well and run fine even with the worn lobe, only way to tell is to run the overhead.

check bull gear if it gets loose it will start making this kind of issues
