yep. figure $800-1000 for the EGR itself, and anywhere from 3-7 hrs to put it in. try to NOT take it to a volvo dealer as they are gonna rape you. find an independant shop and save on the labor rate

mid 128 sid 5 fmi 7

When I worked as a wind turbine commissioner, we did this with the 'problem children' that several teams had spent days trying to get running. Usually got them running within a few hours after that.
-
I'm getting the same codes. If you block your egr tube and the engine does not derate it will buy you sometime to allocate the funds for repair. I don't know how long you can go before the engine starts to derate.
-
According to my ECU I first got the code on 11-15. The engine didnt derate til 2 weeks ago......I roughly did 4-5k miles If that much.
-
My codes are intermittent. Strangely they only come on when the rpms are at 1400ish and lower. Run at 1500 and the codes and check engine light stay off. As the ECU is classifying the faults as electrical, I figure I may have a voltage drop at the lower rpms. My battery terminals were pretty dirty, especially the +, so I cleaned everything up and I'm hoping this will eliminate the problems.
-
My check engine light and fault codes now become active as soon as I drive. nicmirbre, did you get you truck fixed yet?. If so, did replacing #2 egr clear all the codes?.
