    Swift used to do car hauling, they sold their equipment off and seemed to get out of it. Some jobs require too much skill for noobs.

    The CRST tankers are dedicated, and out of Eldridge IA, (just north of Davenport and I-80). They seem to be hauling non food grade fats and oils in the tanks. CRST has bought some subsidiaries, like STI.


    JB Hunt DCS is pulling feed tanks in the local area, now that one did kind of surprise me.

    Back in the mid 1990's JB Hunt thought it would be a brilliant idea to get into the flatbed business.

    They hunted up Bull-Dog trucking. They were going into bankruptcy so JB figured buying that company was a cheap way into the business.

    It dragged on for a few years. Got spun-off. And promptly, finished going bankrupt.

    That's the short version anyway.
