I missed that, was that in an interview or recent article? Any link to it? Otherwise it didn't happen as you say. I can't find where this driver made this statement about why he didn't take the escape ramp for fear of flipping the truck.

He needed an interpreter at the interview. The runaway ramp sign was in English and he didn't have his interpreter with him.

I showed my wife this crash and told her exactly what I ( god forbid if it ever happens to me ) would do.

I’m steering towards the mountain or cliff or any barrier that won’t get anyone other then myself killed.

No way in hell would I have that on my conscience that I killed innocent people.

If it’s my time I’m going if not I’ll survive and not in jail.

Simple as that. Self preservation is at times stronger then ones convictions.

Why would offering a class in speaking, reading, or writing in English be called racist? That word of thrown around and used or blamed much to much these days.
When I was stationed in Germany. We were giving a basic German speaking class.
When I was stationed in Korea same thing.

Isn't a rule that all must be able to read and write english?

Yes, FMCSA rules require drivers to have a workable knowledge of English for reading signs and communication. But, States can offer the written test in a language other than English. The skills test (road) must be conducted in English.
The company this lad worked for was cited by DOT for driver unable to communicate in English.

This is what I want to see here. Speak whatever language you wish but be able to UNDERSTAND all the different signs.

I wondered how long it would take before someone would catch that.:biggrin_25514:
