Oh ####! No SE regional ?? That must have disappeared after the buy out.

I'm not sure I remember correctly. But I think the pay increase was a short term offer. That's why I asked.

BTW, SE Regional was classified as anything SE of Alaska when I ran it (not what they said). I wound up going back OTR in short order. Especially after I was in Quebec for the 3rd time.

I forgot to mention, in regards to the video chat, that I have an iPhone 4s w/ Sprint. Sprint offers the only true unlimited data without charging for each gb/mb over the limit. Some might say that with a 4s, I'd have to be connected to a wifi in order to do video calls, well thats what a jailbroken iPhone and 3G unlocker does for ya. ;-) ya...I'm a computer nerd at heart.

And $25 for a carton!? What brand? I'd guess I might use about $20 a day, at most...which equals out to about $600 a month. I don't think that would be too bad, as long as I work my ### off and do what I can to prove myself to the company that I'm the one that deserves more miles.

Thanks again guys/gals, for all of your input so far. Its great to know that there are people out there willing to help out, give suggestions, and help guide people on what would work best in each person's situations. So, again, Thanks!

Mind if I ask what some of you guys eat on the road? I don't eat McDonalds, but I can promise that I will be dropping by an In-In-Out whenever possible.

Your best bet is get a fridge and microwave and go to Wal mart.

I'm having a hard time understanding why people talk so much crap about Prime. I have had nothing but a positive experience with prime so far. Before I joined Prime I did my research, and there isn't any company out there that pays more for new guys. If you come to Prime with a Cdl you start out at 500 a week plus 10 cpm for anything over 5000 miles. After 4 weeks it goes uptown 600 a week plus 12cpm for anything over 5000 miles. After training, if you go reefer you start out at 34 cpm plus a 5 cpm fuel bonus. Flatbed start out at 36 cpm. I have met a lot of truckers in truckstops with 10-15 years of experience that aren't even making that. Not to mention Prime's equipment is top notch. For every 7 days out you get 1 day off. Solo drivers average anywhere from 2500-3500 miles each week.

I try to eat ONE hot meal in the restaurant every day. Usually breakfast if I have time. Doesn't work out too good most times though.

Otherwise, I eat out of my cooler. I heat up soups, hot dogs, ready to eat meals in my oven. Sandwiches when I need a quick bite at the customer, but don't have time to heat anything.

Might not sound good. But you can bring things from home, and they'll keep for awhile. And when you get a cooler, your choices increase. Fresh fruits and veggies, precooked meats, etc etc.

Light healthy snacks are good too. Especially when you're running hard and really need to keep moving.

theres the key, wait a while THEN review the company, most companies run the crap out of the new drivers while your getting the lowest pay

    Here's why.....

I work 14 on 7 off. My check was $968 bring home last week.

Agreed, my schedule may not fit your purposes. But can Prime do better ???
