In 17 years I've never had a log book citation. Why? Because I take the time to fill it out properly and am also concerned about my CSA score and a fine that I don't want to pay. You get what you pay for and here's an example.......I once worked for a company that didn't pay better than average. They started having trouble with accidents and tickets. The owner came out and said that every driver was getting about a 25% pay raise. This came under the condition that if a driver had a pattern of non-compliance the driver would be terminated. Guess what? The company's safety record improved dramatically and drivers were afraid of losing their job because they knew it would be hard to find a job that paid the same.....So instead of implementing policies that keep drivers away, how about making policies that bring them in? Hire drivers with a proven record of safety and compliance and pay them right.

If or when LS starts requiring all their BCO's to have EOBR's I'm pretty sure they will be losing a lot of them. I know some of them and they have told me it's not a place they will stay if it's forced upon them. What will LS do then? They will continue to lower the bar like every other trucking company saying they cannot find applicants that meet their standards. How about raising the bar and treating people like professionals? Working in a place where people are treated as such will give them a reason to be in compliance.

The only way to "lower" the CSA score is to NOT get any new violation for 12 months, then another 12,then another, in other words only time will heal your wounds ..kinda like points & violations dropping off your MVR..

Drivers never assume that because staying current on a log or filling one out correctly is simple for you that everyone can do it. Lotta morons out here who can barely spell their own name. It's why I always say I don't envy anyone who has to fill empty seats.

No its not coming...Don't believe all the ''hype''...The only way it's coming is via ''paranoid company owners'' thinking it will ''save'' the day...

I can only go by my EXP..Many years ago in trucking the FMCSA and DOT would write tickets for the Log Book not current..Then it would be something else..

Once most of the drivers got on board and ''complied'',the DOT COP would find something else..

Once everyone of the drivers and carriers are ''on board'' and manipulated into this E-LOG,the DOT will find something else to meet there Quota. They will find something because the ECONOMY NEEDS YOUR MONEY..As i pass by the chicken coops i see the majority of trucks being Mega Carriers with E-LOG.

E-LOG is not GOD and will not SAVE THE DAY..It only fixes 1 of a 1000 things that we as drivers can be ticketed for..

Step out of the box for a minute.I know this is very tough for truckers...

Has anyone ever asked themselves this..

What if every company,O/O and truck was 100% Compliant..Every single one.??

How much money to you think the economy, the feds and the States will lose on this...???

Knowing this the E-LOG is just 1 ticket you may never get...Keep in mind that DOT are very slick and will find 999 other things wrong to generate the revenue..In which will give you a bad score on the CSA...

Why people think the E-LOG will gurantee you a position for life and clean scores,is beyond me.Wishful thinking at best..

Welcome to the DIRTY GAME of trucking.I hope you enjoy your stay.

I'm only an agent. I don't make the decisions with the higher ups, though I agree whole heartedly.
