    its going to be a disaster for some companies and shippers it's going to take 2 trucks on 1 load

    I don't see what the problem is... If your an O/O and you work for a local company who is giving you loads that you cannot complete in 14 at the most, move on

    For example 2 pm appt u started at 6 am they have two hours to load then back to rail with no detention u already at 10 hrs It's going to extremely hard to make a decent buck doing local work

    You right I haven't kept a log in so long you can be at shipper and put down on duty not driving right

    Ya but once you start your clock on that's it... If it takes longer than 14 hours a day I would be gone

    If your local you should be home daily. Lots of locals on elogs. Its the regional stuff thatll mess you guys up. You wont be home unless its short drop n hook

    It's going to depend on the market. Here in Denver, three of our competitors are on elogs, one is all company driver, 90/10 company drivers, the other is primarily O/O. At present, on days when I run all local, on paper, all I show on my log is a couple of 2 hr blocks of driving time, so that divided by my total miles, it averages out to about 35 mph, the rest of the day is on line 4. DOT approved this a long time ago. Since elogs will record speeds above 15 mph for set periods of time, from talking to these other drivers, 12 hr days are kind of the max norm, 14 hr days are very uncommon unless there is a lot of sitting involved at one customer, as just running local all day, you can easily hit 11 hrs of driving in a 12 hr day. One driver was saying he sat at UNFI for 10 hrs, 3am appt. time, started his day at 2 am, didn't get in a dock until 4:30 am, and didn't leave until after 1 pm, logged all of it on line 1 or 2 (he did have a sleeper). When he left UNFI after 1pm, the company asked him if he wanted to keep working, since he was rested, he worked another 6 hrs before taking another 10 off.
