I gotta question why do some people have to be rude on here yeah you can search for stuff that's good but when 500 and something of one topic pops up that like roadmedic said lol just be nice we all are here for one thing and that's trucking

And to muddy the waters further, the FMCSA wants them to be called ELD's now... Electronic Logging Device. They seem to think the name change will soften the blow a little when they put out their mandate proposal this fall.

The units plug into the truck ECM. While a driver logs in for his HOS the units constantly track the truck. Safety gets an alert if the truck moves without a driver logged in.

It is government. Change the name and maybe people will not realize it is the same.
