Depends on what state you're in.

Around here. 1984 up must have everything in place or no emissions test.
No emissions. No tag for the registration.

I'm not sure on the updated program now that most everything is obd2 and the only car guy I still know. Sold his shop for retirement.

The obd2 system simply gets a plug in for CEL. The obd1 was a dyno test. That's 95 and older. I'm not sure there's many dyno testers still around.

I didn’t complain. When you remove them from a vehicle, you can sell them for good money if they contain platinum.

Everything over a certain horsepower rating uses it. Hell even the 797F has a huge DEF tank lol. I want to say they use 4 DEF injectors per bank. Don't believe they use a DPF though since the are able to meet the required PM levels without one.

Lies, and more lies. Except for cleaner burning, and multi shot injection. In the USA. In now way has CAT helped the bottom line , or uptime with this in the states.

With all do respect mr scott. I know 3 shops in a 40 mile raduius where i live that will delete and do repairs within 40 mile radius of me. I own an old truck but these shops have a few newer trucks in their fleets that they deleted. Those are the only shops that I KNOW. Id imagine theres a bit more its safe to say. So thats just in one measly area of the whole United states.
So just being argumenatative, Everyone is doing deletes and will work on your truck. All you have to do is know someone that knows someone else to do delete. IF someone were to go to these shops where the deletes were done by someone else, they will work on truck becuase they arent doing the delete for the outsider. Dealers wont work on an engine that was supposed to have all that epa nonsense on there and thats about it. You dont have to drive to mexico to have engine fixed if it was deleted, any truck shop will work on the motor and fix it
