hey, yeah...I sure did! I was NORTHBOUND, THANK GOD! When I saw the lights everyone slowed down, a little bit...but then I saw the FEDEX truck at 5! Even though I saw it at about 45-50 mph it still looked BAD! Traffic was at a dead stand still! I think I went through that at around 0500-0530ish in the am. If you were northbound....you probably passed right by me...if you were southbound....man I FEEL FOR YA! lol was it a semi AND a straight truck? I saw the staright truck on the hill all ###### up! And Bert, you have the same DM as me! She's great....but some days she will really try to push your buttons....so just blow it off and go on! lol Well, guess I'll hurry up and wait....just waiting on my preplan home...down in Charlotte sitting at the Pilot, got unloaded and now just waiting......zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz........lol

well if we don't eat it....does that mean we take pics and post 'em on Facebook? haha Sounds like you're off on the right track. I didn't pull any loaded trailers until my last 3 hours of school. They had one truck that had 21,000 of bricks and shingles(for roofing, NOT the disease! hehe) and it was a totally different experience in itself! Have a great weekend!

nope it was a fedex pulling doubles....it just looked like that because one of the doubles was almost entirely destroyed and the front on all that was left was the front half that was attached to the cab and turned around at a 90 to it and upside down.....

i was southbound and got by pretty easily in the left lane there was plenty of warning on the radio about 25 miles out all the way to it.....and traffic was light most of the way down that time of morning got through there not long after it happened.....i was about 45 minutes ahead of you getting through there

ok...well I saw what was left of the cab and all the garbage spread throughout the entire area. Like I said, I just peeked at it...didn't wanna cause something on the northbound side. Got in around 1630 or so and SDaniel....that was me honking at you when I was pulling in. Kinda weird seeing you WITHOUT a hat on! haha Well, I got offered to go to Grand Rapids and boy was I happy! haven't been to MI since I was 16....what was that 20 years ago? But, due to my reset, I had to turn it down! :( It was due Tuesday by 0500 and my reset will be up by 0500 Mon. morning....just didn't want to chance it being late, since Brian said it can't be late at all. And I just had a real close call with the keg load. So off to AL I go for mon afternoon drop. OMG I don't use 95 for ONCE in about a month! YEAY....different scenery! I'm happy....but I'm sure I'll be turned around and back up 95 I go. lol

Hey there, wannabe driver here. Been thinking of enrolling at DCCC next year, then hoping to go with Epes. I live 30 miles from the Greensboro terminal and like the idea of being home most weekends as a new driver.

I read on glassdoor.com that someone said only 10% of drivers that go to orientation actually get hired. Is that true? For those that don't get hired, do most wash out in orientation or during their training period? What are the most common reasons for not getting hired? Thanks in advance.

I don't know the EXACT figures...but EPES is kinda picky about the people that drive for them. If you read a few posts up Bert talks about there was 15-16 in his class and only 11 made it through? I was in a class of about 7 and only 1 got cut! Guess it all depends on if you have a "total clean slate" or not. I know sdaniel will be able to elaborate more on this for ya....and he'll probably post more next.......haha But, hey DCCC is a great school....I've known lots of people that went there and either came straight out or transferred to other BIGGER schools and made something GREAT of themselves! Good luck.

Yes epes is picky! But worth it! If you get in you will be in a very select group! Best of luck! Give a try!
