Equity is a really "get out what you put in" kind of company, and claiming that the office people are "out to get you" is a little silly.
Did you drop the truck at a terminal? OR just one of the drop yards? Because if it was just a yard, even if it's one they go to regularly....guess what...they still have to recover that truck. Semantics, maybe. But you can only be so upset about not taking they're equipment back to where they want it.
Did you turn your paperwork for the loads in when you ran them? Or did you sit on the bills a few days before sending them in? It takes a day or two for payroll to process (that's anywhere) and if your stuff isn't in by it's needed, you can't be surprised if there is a delay.
They have done a lot of housekeeping, like Wicked said, and a lot of the dead weight in dispatch and recruiting is gone. There are still a few people who get a little bit of an attitude some time, but hey, people are people, and it's not like folks in the truck ever get unreasonable, amiright?
The equipment is older, for the most part, but they've added a host of new trailers and fresh gliders this year, and they've flipped the shop staff completely. They have a lot of catchup to do, but they're making serious ground.
The people are what make this company. There really is a strong sense of family and they really do try to take care of you as long as you're a team player. If you're willing to get in the truck and actually do some running, and if you can realize that trucking sucks, sometimes #### happens, and keep your cool when it does, you might have an off week here or there but you will make the miles and you will make the money. But if you're inflexible, constantly insist that things have to be done "your way or the high way", or the kind of driver whose response to a stressful situation is to get dramatic as opposed to helpful, then you're not going to be very happy.
They're not perfect, but they're a far sight better than they used to be, and while it's not for everyone, if you're the kind of driver who wants a good day's pay for a good day's work, Equity is certainly worth a look.

I
My deadhead miles range from 40 miles to 150 miles. Get paid for all of them. If you run on the fleet I'd say 80% of it is drop/hook. Run between 2400-2800 miles loaded average.
I've times to to where I get 4200 in a pay week, only due to the timing of delivery.
I've also had some loads I sat awhile, but, if it's not your fault you sat, they pay you.
I just took a 10 day vacation. First week back I'm already out of the hole and positive $4-500 this week. That's with a late start and a $-410 deficit.
It can work if you do.ReplicatingPerfection Thanks this. -
