Can anyone give some tips on surviving the extra board (HOS, loads etc)? Preferably their Wednesday start. Also any ballpark salary info would be great. Don't mean to be rude just curious.

HOS you usually just run 5 or 6 days and reset at home. You can stay out longer and reset at a hotel. Fax in your trip report and paid weekly. Starting salary would probably be around $70k maybe substantially more depending miles and drop and hooks. I've brought home $2,000 a week running over 3,200 miles in 6 days. I average around $1,500 a week.

Well I survived my first week out on my own. Not too bad. No complaints (other than I had to wait over 3 hours for a load to start my day today) I've got a decent truck and so far I'm impressed with the hotels I've stayed at. A lot nicer than what I was expecting. especially the hotel in West Middlesex, PA.
Went to the Chicago terminal twice this week. I'd be fine never going there again, but I'm sure I'll be seeing a lot more of that place.

Yea I know I will. That place is just a mess. Spent 10 min looking for my trailer. Glad I was only looking for a van and not building a set.
I just got an International Prostar twin screw. Nothing fancy, but I like it. I'm just glad i didn't get one of the Transtars.

i've always been interested in applying at estes. is that 22/hour plus the mileage pay? or just when you're doing non-driving work?

That's for city pickup and delivery. Linehaul (terminal to terminal) is paid by the mile.
