After chickening out of the Denver-area move, I've put in for Estes as well. P/D in Albuquerque, and a Regional OTR/Linehaul(?) in Hot/Sunny Phoenix. I got called a few times for P/D, but nothing came of it yet. So I'll see if anything moves forward with the Regional OTR. Figure I'll stick with the milk shuttling and loading while I continue putting in apps to desirable and cheaper areas to live.

Hay just a checkup on how it's been goin, I am. Currently at the 212 running P&D and want to put my name on the extra board list this year during bids, I don't think the TM will let me but I still want to try.

What's the schedule like on P and D with Estes?
I'm that weird guy that's been searching for a job with days off in the middle of the week. Actually kind of looking back at the Denver metro again. Mainly due to cozying up to a new crowd there.

I hate to say it, but I doubt you'll ever find P&D with days off in the middle of the week. Reason is business hours of most companies are during the day on weekdays. But I could be wrong. Estes may do switches on weekends, or something.

Some companies (Estes included I believe) run linehaul 7 days per week and have weird schedules like that, though.

Yeah P&D is a m-f deal with weekends optional (line-haul or in my case shagging trailers to and from the rail yard)

If you wanna come to Indianapolis, the old company I used to work for has all different days of the week off. You'll start on the extra board filling in runs they need done. Just tell them the days off you need until a thur-mon bid or whatever you want comes up. Company is called Sodrel. They're a mail contractor and it's easy peazy work. If you're not good at backing into tight areas, you will be after delivering to some of these post offices a few times especially the downtown one.

I've been going back and forth with their recruiters there. And I remember one of them bringing up the fact that you might get anywhere from a Sun-Mon off(ewww.), all the way to something sweet like Weds/Thurs, or even Fri/Sat off. Some guys like to take their 34's/2-day off in a motel. I just like to come back to my own bed after any given shift and then have a consecutive, 2-days off to be able to make some light road trips.

Yeah, all that is for extraboard linehaul. You might get what you want if you're willing to stay in hotels all week. Just not as a P&D driver. Those drivers make real good money, though.

Maybe the Estes guys can tell me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure extraboard linehaul drivers run mostly at night, as well. Something to consider.

Nothing wrong with the night schedule for me. Less bologna to deal with than during the day. Don't know why everyone knocks it, it's like paradise!!

I totally agree, but many people can't do it or don't want to. I've always been a night person, so it suits me just fine.
