@J-Dub - I don't know if you're calling someone at corporate in Virginia or something, but you should probably call the actual local terminal itself and ask to speak with the terminal manager. The TM will do the actual interview, and corporate is then handed the ball if they decide to continue with the hiring process. They don't have recruiters in the same way that OTR truckload companies do. You'll probably never get anywhere trying to deal with someone at the corporate headquarters.

You clearly did the right thing. Just commenting that my son is at a terminal on the east coast and it is absolutely nothing like what happened in St. Louis, in any way. Sounds like the terminals are something like little worlds unto themselves. My son went from an interview at the terminal to being onboarded in less than 3 weeks (I think it was actually 2 weeks, but I would have to go back and confirm). The terminal manager need/wanted him to start and I'm guessing he must have leaned on the folks in Richmond to finish the process faster than normal. You have some jerks everywhere, but my son says the atmosphere is so much better than the first place he worked. He likes his dispatcher and his manager. From what my son has told me it sounds like they have some older equipment on the east coast, so no cameras yet, but to tell you the truth my son says he has been thinking about getting one for himself as protection (like probably many of you he is worried about being blamed for something that is not his fault).
By the way, Estes is his second job, my son did not have a good experience with his first company out of trucking school. He truly had a rogue trainer, amongst other things. To be fair, though, there are people who post on these boards that are happy with that company and say they are treated fairly. So I guess when it comes to trucking, YMMV.G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
