estimate for permits

Have to know the route first, are you going with a permit company or trying to order from states direct where permissible?

Mileage times 1.25 per mile if bidding on a load is my number to include in the rate.

 

Sounds about the going price, if you are a O/O may want to factor in your time and efforts for ordering and receiving cost of the permits.

Not trying to tell you how to do it or anything but just a thought.

 

Forgot to ad something also, you will not be able to run in the dark so having less daylight hours for driving you will have a loss also. Not sure on your driving speed but as a rule of thumb speed limits on your permits may be imposed as well depending on the permit, also if you intend on any stops in Pa, Wv or Ohio make sure you get that on the state permits since they are finding a new revenue stream with people going off route as they put it.

 

LOL well from what I heard, sea story only mind you that rest areas are ok just taking ramps off the route will get you a ticket maybe. know a few people I have talked to from all across the U.S. say the drivers are getting tickets for off route if it is not on the permits.

 

don't order NM or AZ through the permit service, buy them atbthe port for each state NM $25 and AZ $15 for oversize only. Save the $50

 

TX is most likely the most expensive @ $60

 

I add $100 for each state I will run in for that load...
