What with all the cold weather and all...
Anybody have any experience to share on ether applications?
I still have my eyebrows. Barely.

It cleans tar off your paint pretty well...... Watch the fumes..lol
And always keep it In a side box.... Not in the cab or under the sleeper . -
Nothing like a towel, paper bag and a can of ether for one of them cold and boring nights at a truck stop.
not4hire, striker, WitchingHour and 1 other person Thank this. -
What if your side box is under your sleeper?
-
after a year or two the can starts to leak and you throw it away. I always keep a can for reseating flat trailer tiresyuban Thanks this.

The absolute best use for ether. As far as starting an engine with ether, do so as a last resort. . Use it once and make an addict for life.tucker Thanks this.

Can use it to get placards off the sides of the trailer too. Give it a shot on the placard then hit it with a lighter it warms that glue up and they come right off.
-
do not use on vehicles with intake preheaters or MAF sensors, unless you want to roast marshmellows

I've heard that said. Never understood why using ether once will require its' use forever. So long as you don't break a ring. Care to expalin why?
-
I don't relay get the why, but I made my old Pete completely addicted to it. Used it once to get it going after changing an injector and running the rack, and from them on it would require a shot on the first start every day. Over the years we also had a farm tractor, a w18 case, an aljon 20, and a 951crawler loader that would never start again without it. Even on the warmest days. Again I don't get why, it's just beentmy experience that a diesel engine will become addicted for life. Always thought the old equipment was just worm out, but when it did it to my pete, it made a believer of me.
