The straight scoop on TransForce ...

I've been a company driver, owner operator, track & trace clerk, dispatcher, safety & compliance director, and for the past six years a recruiter for TransForce. So, TransForce is a driver staffing company, in business for over 20 years with about 1,400 drivers presently employed. TransForce in Canada is a totally different and un-related company. TransForce drivers are company employees assigned to drive for client fleets, some stay on the TransForce payroll and benefits for years or in some cases decades. Many drivers are hired by the client company after an agreed upon period of time. Drivers are advised of all of the assignment details prior to hire.

A major advantage for choosing to drive for TransForce is that if for some reason a job assignment does not work out; schedule, pay, lay off, whatever - drivers can discuss alternative assignments within the same branch office or at any of the thirty-six locations across the U.S.
Most driver assignments are local, home daily and there also regional, home weekly - all with competitive pay and benefits.

Okay, I'll get off the soapbox, but will be glad to answer any questions that might come up.

And Penske is very good to work for? The only driver jobs I see at Penske here is something called a "hiker"? I think its a guy who delivers trucks that are leased to clients? Is that a job you guys heard of?

You are right, a hiker is usually a part time driver to deliver and pick up trucks. Penske is looking for hikers in the Milwaukee area, It seems that Penske has some good benifits but they do have problems just like everybody else in the transportation industry.

My husband worked for them for a short time. He did a 2nd shift gig shuttling trailers for Penske, but the pay was low and we needed better. The guy he worked with told him about another gig for a retailer and told him he'd be home weekends and etc. It wasn't at all what he was told it would be and he wasn't home one weekend. He got another job somewhere else.
