My 16 year old nephew is the drummer for a band named Crooked X. They had a lot of success starting when they were about 12yrs. old. They had a song that was kind of the PBR theme song a couple of years ago called, "Adrenaline". To make a long story short, they received a sponsorship from Red Bull. He pretty much got as much Red Bull as he wanted when he wanted. I found it to be very addictive for him, and he actually put on quite a few pounds with it. Now that he has gotten away from it, he has dropped about 20 pounds. My point being, not much nutritional value in the energy drinks.

i worked with a guy whos nephew got addicted to red bulls. he would drink 2 in the morning 1 in the afternoon and like 3 or 4 more when he got home. then when hed crash hed take aspirin for the headaches. well long story short he was in the shower one day and noticed blood running down his leg. he had a bleeding intestine from all the red bull and aspirin. had to have surgery to repair the hole and stop the bleeding. after that id never drink one.

It always amazes me at how some people will abuse a product to no end, and then when something happens to that person, everyone decided the product ingested is to blame.

I'll drink an AMP or Red Bull now and again. However, just like booze, or marijuana, or ephedrine, it's not meant to be taken in an abusive manner.

A cup of tea works good for me. I like the taste of coffee but one cup a day is enough or i get a bit jittery. Try a piece of fruit, orange or apple or banana, these have lots of vitamins and natural sugars. A couple of pieces of beef jerky works for me as well, something to do with the protien i think, not the healthiest option but better than those energy drinks, they realy just arent good for the body or the mind at all.

You should find out how he gets them, would be wortha try for those long boring nights through PA! I don't particularly enjoy any energy-drinks, the smell & flavor is almost sickening to me.

5-Hour Energy works, but has a bitter aftertaste, and the health effects would add up if used often. So far I have tried it twice.

They oxygen would work, because you're doing the same thing as effedrine, only opposite... Rather than expanding bronchial pathways to improve air-flow (and killing your liver) you are simply pushing more oxygen through, thereby increasing oxygen to the brain in a slightly more natural way. Even still, too much pure oxygen can be very bad for your health, so moderation is still called for.

Wait... You mean... You expect personal accountability?!?! HA!
    lol

It's sad that we live in a country where Bob can be sued by the person who broke a leg while breaking into his house.

I've never understood the concept of ingesting harmful substances in order to keep oneself awake. As drivers, the appropriate practice when you feel tired is to sleep. There's nothing wrong with a nap, as well as a good cup of coffee after that nap.

I played minor league ice hockey for 10 years and used to get a similar b12 supplement before every game from our trainer. That stuff was awe3some! And 15 years later, I still use a similar supplement for driving and pick up hockey. :biggrin_25525:
