Having grown up in Fargo but never drove for Wylie I can remember when standard issue there was a Mack superliner with a 36 inch box bunk .
With 300 Mack power and a 5 speed tranny .
Fargo drivers didn't see home much .

I was lucky when I started at Wylie. They had bought a few Superliners with 60" stand up sleepers as "reward" trucks for veteran drivers. By the time I started, those trucks had been passed down to the rest of the fleet.. 2 guys that started when I did got those 36" small sleepers you mentioned. Somehow, I got a 60" standup. Back then, nobody got home too often. Didn't even do any good to ask to be put on the home list until you had been out at least a month. They'd say, "but you where just home".

I drive for Wylie, It is an OTR position. You are not getting home every weekend. When you do go home it is usually WITH a load and you are told that up front! From what I understand, it has changed immensely over the past few years...for the better. Yes they run 62MPH, yes they run electronic logs, and yes you tarp about 50% of the loads. All that being said, here's my experience....
I have yet to wait even a second for my next load. My only down time has been a blow out, which was handled in a very timely manner. I am averaging over 2500 miles a week and $1k/week take home!. My recruiter didn't lie once. They have bonuses for everything, mileage, fuel mileage, fuel stop compliance, clean DOT inspections, etc, which add up to around $500-$800 a month and are very attainable. yes they route you, but they pay you by that route. All deadhead miles paid. Great equipment. Tarp pay, stop pay, extra tarp pay for multiple stops. I hired into a 2016 Volvo with less than 200k miles on it and when it was given to me it had been professionally detailed and was clean as a pin! New mattress cover and all. all the flatbed equipment you will ever need is issued to you before first trip. If something does come up and you need to pick up a special fastener, strap etc., just turn in receipt...that simple. They do tend to micro manage a little, but that is just less thinking I have to do. the only time I have been bothered on the road was when I made a mistake and it needed correcting.
Truckers bi*** a lot, and I are one myself, but this company is on the level. I have seen bad post (mostly old) about Wylie and one was from a guy who griped that he wasn't allowed to deadhead 1000 miles so he could quit. Tough noogies! I thought it only fair to give my opinion.
By the way, I am not a recruiter or office personal, I am a 30 year driver who did his research and drove from East Texas to Fargo ND to hire on with a company that said they do everything as advertised. I was not disappointed in the least. As a matter of fact, they offer more than they advertise.
If you are looking for a flatbed 48 state carrier I highly reccomend E W Wylie.
