    WHY NOT??
I was looking for and expected to find such type post.
    Thank You RodBuilder1947.

    My Response:

What about Her, They, Them, Other??

I'm CERTAIN I've met numbers of Felon convicted People in TRUCKING that had served their sentences, so what.
I only saw PEOPLE, MEN & WOMEN, most likely saw and/or talked with Current or Retired Military Personnel driving Trucks or at least chatting on C.B.'s as well in Truck Stops, Restaurants and Game Rooms.
Game Rooms let off a lot of steam!!!!
So MANY FINE PEOPLE I've met in Trucking and I gave no concern about ANY OF THEM being a Felon.
It just didn't matter and still does NOT.
Not every one I met in Trucking was wonderful, just like in the non Trucking World, so what.

LOTS' OF OLD HANDS AND NEW HANDS!!

    WOMEN Owner Ops were Fun!!

I was not accepted into The Military and it wasn't due to Criminal Record.

I've a Nephew who gave himself a Felony when 18 or 19 years young (bad idea to steal a car I think for some pathetic sissy gang thing as well under the influence of Al C O'hol and Mary Huana). He did not go to prison but the weight of the conviction haunted him for a few years. He applied to a Good Gig in a Growing Construction Field (Cable) in Hesperia, Calif., when he was 19, 20 or 21, digging ditches for a few years then moved up and is still at that ONE company and he's around 35 years young with ONE wife and 2 Daughters.
He still has the conviction, just like I have a misdemeanor D.U.I. conviction from 1991, so what.
It's how a person carries Him or Her Self going FORWARD, not what they did!!

    Thanks to BeingAsAnOcean40
    You're what this Industry NEEDS!!

Definitely. Just had to give up drinking and realize there's so much more to life than being wasted

About 3 years ago I stopped in Jane Lew, WV at the Truckstop. While walking in to the restaurant I met another driver who was looking to set and eat as well.

Our conversation lead to us sharing a table since he seemed like a good guy with Oldskool traits.

During our conversation he explained that he had spent a few years in prison, and was trying to get his life back in order.

Today he and I are good friends, he’s a genuine dude that made a mistake over a woman and paid the price. Now owns his own truck that he bought from his dad, and has since gotten married.

Not everyone is a repeat offender and only looks to be a bad guy. I give the OP a thumbs up for making a step in the right direction…..

Thanks for that. My case also involved a woman. If anyone can push us to our limits it'd women. Add alcohol to the equation and it's all bad. Well for now it looks like I'm gonna be working on cars at Firestone but I will still pursue getting my cdl back in the near future. I just need to work, and work now.
