Ever hear of oakley sunglasses? and Yea 6 pairs would not have been a felony.

If I had tried to wait it out in jail for 2 weeks and plead it down I might be in better shape than Im in.

Oh and who ever said cr england will only consider a felony if its 20 years old is wrong. I called them last week against my better judgement and they told me as long as its not drug, sex or violence related and over 10 years they would give me consideration.

For reals CR England Said no? What was the flony for cause I have three felonies and they told me I have a job when I graduate.. Lucky for me though Swift hired me on because of my excelent work history and drive history. Afterall my felonies are all over 15 years ago..

On another NOTE I'm happy my thread is alive and kicking on page 1, hopefully it has helped others out there.

Also to all my fellow people with felonies on their record, If those felonies are over 10 years old and are NOT DRUG, SEX, VIOLENCE, PERSON TO PERSON Related than you just might have a chance at swift!!!

Also carolina cargo is another great place for new students to get a leg in if they are not accepted by Swift. If you get at least a good year of solid driving history with a company than you can get with almost any company out there, the key word is safety!!

I think I'm in a much worse situation. My felony was Child Endangerment (non-sex crime), I was 19 at the time and am now 32. The felony is seven (7) years old, happened in 1997. Yea, I listened to the school recruiter who said they would help me get hired (what a load), I graduated 08/06/2010. I have not had any luck so far in getting hired. I made a mistake and I know it, I paid my debt to society and continue to pay. I just want to take care of my family doing what I love. Is there no hope for me?

There is SOME hope however unlike regular truck school grads who only have to bend over with a can of lube and prepared to be humped hard by the trucking industry, YOU may have to work for a company that does not provide the lube.

Look up carolina cargo, its a low pay job even by student standards however they will hire you or give you a chance if you're looking for work.

I've already been turned down from a few places that claim ANYTHING over ten years is looked at on a case by case as long as its not violent, sex or drug related..
Well none of my previous 16 year old crimes were however some companies still frown. Ive yet to get to the point where I feel the need to apply to carolina cargo however another week or two of this and I may just end up standing in line behind you on the man train.....

Thing is, I have applied online with Carolina Cargo. But have not received a call back, and the email link is broken. And if you call the number listed on the site, its automated and says they don't answer messages left on their machine. My only other option is to send a letter snail mail. By the way, what is their hiring area? I live in Huntsville, AL.

    Hello Enigma.
I worked for Carolina Cargo on two occasions.
The first time was 8 months,I rather liked it there because they gave me a chance and I gave them no problems. Your biggest problem is not so much your felony but your lack of experience with a felony. I have been turned down by all the big companies and I have experience that goes all the way back to 1995. Some people just dont want to forgive.
as for you living in alabama that is no problem for Carolina Cargo.
I know folks who lived as far away as California and when you consider that you dont take your truck home with them that means you stay out there a long time in that truck, but you get good experience. If you check out my youtube video "trucking across america" you will see two dudes flexing their arms in the video. One of those dudes was from Alabama just like you and this video was made while I was working for CC the second time.
DId you send them your Fax them your MVR?
That is very important because is shows them your serious about going to work. if you want any more info just send me a private message.
