Enigma78 I don't have the same problem you have being a felony, but even having problems with a lessor charge all my old friends have become jerks because I use to be a cop, and judgemental...sometimes life only gives you one chance, this has become such a conservative country and the right wing nut cases are the law and order society types are the ones running these trucking companies or doing the recruiting....yeah they say they will consider felonies and misdeamenors, but in reality there are alot of people in the economy without convictions in the job market. alot are turning to trucking because they have the idea it's a good income Hah hah it's not easy and Im inexperienced, but I read these threads and learn from people who have done it for a awhile and I have second thoughts......Child endangerment in going to be interpeted all kinds of ways by people weather fair to you or not but the court system has creative ways of dealing with offenses and some will think maybe it was a sex crime even though you said it wasn't, child endangerment is going to really effect you Im sorry to say, also you said you were 19 when it happened but said the felony is 7 years old that would make you 25 years old... but keep you're hope no one can take that away from you...

I say the felony is 7yrs. old, due to my understanding that companies judge the age of a case by the last date of your sentence. i.e. I was released June 2002 and on probation until June 2003. So from 2003 to now 2010 is 7 years, and this is how I am told companies determine the age of your crime. Even though, in fact this happened 13 yrs. ago.

Thats why I've become such an independant voter over these past years.

I have one side of the political spectrum making excuses as to why I can't suceed and the other side continuing to persecute me for past misstakes...

There has to be a place for the 1% of people with a felony who WANT TO FRICKEN WORK and not live off the goverment welfare while blaming society for their troubles.... I do not embrace the lefts excuses making but I also do not embrace continued persecution for 16 year old felonies...

That just depends on the company I have talked to a few that go from date of arrest and a few that use date of conviction.

Are there companies out there that will allow you to be trained by their company drivers, even though they will not hire you? I mean go through the Driver Training Orientation process. I spoke to a recruiter that stated that if I completed such training that I could get hired on. This is because their company does not have a training program. Any ideas about this?

Good luck getting hired with ANY felony. Most employers wont touch you at all.In this economy they have plenty of qualified applicants with no criminal record.Who would you hire first?
