I agree with Hippy champ. Our society does NOT believe in redemption. As soon as you realize that the better off you'll be. When I'm interviewed, I simply explain:
"I was tore up from a line of duty injury, but I kept on using painkillers after I was healed up. I don't know if what I got was a fair deal or not. I'm not the one to make that call. What I CAN say is that I've learned how NOT to deal with crap that comes up in life, and for 13 years the worst I've done is speed by 10mph."
Some companies won't even return my calls, some won't return them when they learn that it was a "drug related" offense. Does it make me mad? Hell yes! but I let it go and move on. I've never had trouble finding work untill recently, and THAT'S not because of my background. When you accept that our culture is hypocritical about "paid debts" and "redemption" you'll have a much easier time with things.

The felony is a class 3 for planning to kick the now ex's butt after putting up with 13 years of him beating the crap out of me.....any suggestions on companies that will hire me? I've tried Swift and they said no - even though they have a lot of people with felonies working for them. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

With it only being 5 years it might be a little hard. It seems they will look at you if it has been atleast ten years. Try some of the local companies.
