Here is a screen shot of my 6/16/17 check:

Its only 2244 miles but a fair amount of hourly pay. Slightly below average week. One thing most companies don't pay is the accident delay. These are times I roll up on a back up and creep along at 5mph. I simply keep up with the time and turn it in. They pay me at my hourly rate.

Yeah, my home OC is Keasby, NJ. And my DBL seems like she knows how to handle her drivers, but maybe she's still gauging how I perform before she really gives me more loads more frequently. I just started with this company in late April, but I started in the experienced class, so training was brief. The thing that's really kicking my butt though, is setting up my NAT. I HATE math!! I mean, can do my ETA's just fine, but doing the math ahead of time, to my last stop on my next preassignment is a pain in the ###! Maybe if I get better at that, I might get more loads on a more condensed schedule, which is what I want (or maybe I'm asking for a little too much, since I'm still new).
I dunno.... what say you, Moarter & 19d?19d and Mortarmaggot Thank this. -
We really get paid for that?
-
It might be terminal specific. When I first started I ran a load back from Baton Rouge during a hurricane evacuation. My dispatcher told me to write down any delays and that they would pay me for it. Been doing that ever since.
19d Thanks this. -
Well guess I'll ask dispatch Monday. That would be at least 4 more hours of pay easily for me

It does add up but I also find the backups seem longer than they actually are.19d Thanks this.

Yes, it is. I spoke with the recruiter for a long while today. I was told to formally apply after I get HAZMAT done and she'd probably get me into Wilmington. She knows I want the west side of NC in two years, and she said the SC terminal is filled with Vets and about 50 miles from where I'm moving.
Went and passed HAZMAT and Tanker tests earlier today. Will be filling out TWIC and HAZMAT background paperwork next Sat.Last edited: Jun 23, 2017

They don't frown upon you driving loadedscythe08 Thanks this.

Actually they love it. That check represents the last leg of a Kansas City out and back and an entire Plaquemine. Both are empty out there loaded back.
I also had 2 tire blow outs one drive and 1 trailer that pay period. The latter cost me an extra night on the road and a full day off since it happened 40 miles from the yard and ran out my 14. Had I not blown that tire it would be for 4 days work since I was off Tuesday that week. I believe I posted about it in the where are you loading thread. -
Well my checks just got alittle bigger, 3.5 cpm pay raise today. Only at 49cpm now but its better than before
MarkH129 and QualityMike Thank this.
