Im not trying to start an argument. Everyone is talking about rates. I hear it all the time i want haul cheap frieght. What is cheap frieght? Most people will say anything below there BEP. What if you have 2 drivers, bidding on a load. Driver A BEP is 1.50 and Driver B is 2.00. They both call on the same broker. Who do you think will get the job? Both drivers have there own authority, they both been in the business for 5 yrs, and they pull the same trailer. The only diffrence is Driver A stays in FL and Driver B stays in MD. Would driver A be hauling cheap frieght if he took the job for 1.50? I know i have a BEP and want haul anything below that. But also i know someone will haul , below my BEP. Does that mean they haul cheap frieght?

Nope. Most of the posts complaining about cheap freight is just venting out of frustration over things they have no control over. They want to get an acceptable rate on every load they haul. Ain't gonna happen. Never has.

Where would you start? I think the fuel price should dictate the rate. I think if the fuel is 4.00 the rate should be 4.00

Maybe we should organize like a union without the harsh rules that will stick it to shippers. Without health insurance, vacation time.overtime pay Etc. Just to get rite rate.

What if fuel went below a $1.00 but all the other costs stayed the same, would you agree to haul freight at a dollar or less based on fuel?
